SEED is the entrance exam for undergraduate design courses at Symbiosis Institute of Design.

The SEED 2025 exam is conducted online on a computer based test (CBT). The examination pattern includes the duration of the exam, total number of questions, total marks, and marking scheme etc. The detailed information of the SEED exam are mentioned below in the table Duration: the exam is conducted for 2.5 hours. Total number of questions: The question paper will contain 150 questions. Question type: The questions are in multiple choice questions. Total marks: The paper consists of 150 marks. Exam Frequency: The exam is conducted once in a year. Marking Scheme:

  1. For each correct answer the candidates will be awarded 1 mark.
  2. For incorrect answers there is no negative marking.

SEED section wise weightage

The SEED examination is conducted in different sections, including the written test, personal interview and portfolio review. The weightage criteria from each criteria are listed below in the table

SEED exam: Entrance test

  • The exam will consist of multiple choice questions.
  • The duration of the exam is 150 minutes.
  • The total number of questions are 150.
  • Candidates will get 1 mark for each correct answer
  • There is no negative marking

SEED Portfolio Review The portfolio of the candidates will be a digital portfolio and should be a compilation of their best work showcasing their skills, interest in the areas. Have a good qualified picture and a powerpoint presentation of a maximum of 15 slides. The presentation will be in PDF format and size should be 5 MB. The portfolio make contains these below followings

  1. Sketches, mixed media illustrations and digital work
  2. Collaging of images, 2D and 3D
  3. Photography
  4. 3D objects like sculpture, fabric products, gadgets, art inspired products etc.

SEED Personal interview The candidates who are qualified for the portfolio review should have appeared in the personal interview session round. This is the last round. The questions are usually asked from their chosen program.
