SEED 2025 : Application Process, Eligibility, Admit Card & Result

The Symbiosis Entrance Exam for Design or SEED is an entrance exam conducted by the Symbiosis Institute of Design or SID. It marks the first step in two-step admission processes followed in SID. Candidates qualifying the SEED, which happens to be a written examination, are then required to appear for the Portfolio Review and Personal Interaction or PRPI round. The final merit list for SID will be prepared by gauging the cumulative performance of the candidate in written examination, Portfolio Review, PRPI Task, and Personal Interaction. The exam for SEED tests a candidate on several parameters ranging from his or her ability to understand color, geometry, visual observations, and general design awareness to their creative thinking ability and their acquaintance with Indian culture, crafts, and traditions.

SEED 2025 Application Form

The application form for SEED 2025 is now OPEN. The candidate can fill out the application form through the link that is given on this page. How to fill up the SEED 2025 application form

1. Get registered - In the registration form, enter details like email id and mobile number to get registered. On successful registration, an applicant account will be created.
2. Fill in the form - In this step, fill in your personal, academic, and contact details. Also, select the Test Centre preference.
3. Pay the application fee - After ensuring that the application fee is complete in all respects, pay the exam fee of INR 3,250. The fee has to be paid online using net banking, credit and debit cards.
4. Submit the application form - After ensuring that the application is complete in all respects, submit it.

SEED 2025 Eligibility criteria

Symbiosis Institute of Design will publish the eligibility criteria of SEED 2025 for admission to the B.Des program. The candidate needs to ensure that they are eligible according to the prescribed eligibility criteria, otherwise, at any stage of the admission process, the candidate can get disqualified.

SEED Eligibility Criteria 2025

• Passed Class 12 from any stream; e.g.: Science, Commerce, Arts, etc. or equivalent (Or)
• Cleared 10+3 diploma approved by the State Board of Technical Education with minimum aggregate marks of 50% (45% marks or equivalent grade for Scheduled Caste/ Scheduled Tribes).
• Those appearing for the final exams of the 10+2 or 10+3 diploma programs are also eligible to appear for the SEED 2025, on the condition that their final exam results have been declared by June of the admission year.

Note: Any candidate who fails in his/her Class 12 examination but later appears for and clears the immediate compartmental examination which is held in the same year, in their first attempt, is eligible for provisional admissions at SID.

SEED 2025 Exam Pattern

As mentioned in the official website, candidates have to appear for the SEED exam and get selected candidates in the exam will be called up for portfolio review and personal interaction rounds. The exam pattern of SEED 2025 would be such that aspirants have to attempt 60 multiple-choice questions in 60 minutes. The questions can be MCQ, Match the Columns, Fill in the blanks, image-based, and comprehension-based. The SEED 2025 paper will comprise a mix of questions based on Visual Sensitivity and Judgement, Observational, Perceptual and Reasoning abilities, Problem-Solving, Basic knowledge of Logic of Science and Mathematics, Art, Craft and Culture, Design and Environment.

After shortlisting the SEED candidates will be required to appear for Portfolio Review and Personal Interaction Round. The portfolios of the candidates should meet the standards set by the institute. However, some conditions are given below:

• Sketches, mixed-media illustrations, and digital work
• Collaging of images, 2D and 3D articles
• Photography
• 3D objects like sculptures, fabric products, gadgets, art-inspired products, etc.

SEED 2025 Syllabus

The Symbiosis Entrance Exam for Design is designed to assess candidates aptitude in all areas that are necessary for a career in design. These include the following areas on the syllabus:

• Visualization: Tests the understanding of and ability to visualize 2D and 3D representations in both pictorial and geometric forms, such as simple and complex 2D and 3D shapes, their transformations, and spatial relationships.
• Observational, Perceptual, and Reasoning Skills: Tests the ability to observe, interpret, and understand informationrmation beyond its surface-level details, which will enable applicants to associate, compare, and draw meaningful conclusions.
• Creative and Problem-Solving Skills: Assess the ability to understand and relate to the surrounding visuals, identify problems, and formulate effective solutions.
• Application of Basic Science and Mathematics Knowledge: Questions assess basic knowledge of both scientific and mathematical concepts-which must be applied to common objects and activities-related to a school curriculum to the 10th standard.
• Arts, Craft, Culture, Design and Environment: General knowledge assessment regarding both Indian and international contexts in respect of art, craft, culture, design and environment, covering issues such as individuals, objects, tools, techniques, problems, influences, periods of history and contemporary trends.

SEED 2025 Admit card

The admit card of the written exams for SEED 2025 will be tentatively released in the 1st week of January 2025 by Symbiosis Institute of Design. The admit card will have the candidate's name, roll number, date and time of the SEED 2025 exam, and the guidelines for the exam. Since the SEED 2025 exam is going to be conducted in remote-proctored mode, the admit card will not have any informationrmation about the exam center. The PRPI admit card will be released separately. • Enter the user's SEED ID and Password, subsequently a login is done and afterwards the admit card appears before the computer screen, get the download and take its printout.

SEED 2025 Results

The Symbiosis Institute of Design will announce the exam results of SEED 2025 on January 17, 2025; it will be a few days after the commencement date of the examination. Candidates can check their results online from the official admission portal of SID. To check the outcome, candidates will have to log in using their access credentials.

• For checking the results of the written exam, log in by entering the registered login ID & password.

Shortlisting of candidates for PRPI

• The results of the written test are going to be considered for the filtration of the candidates into PRPI, which stands for Portfolio Review and Personal Interaction.

Final Results of SEED 2025

The initial merit list of SEED 2025 is tentatively scheduled to be issued in the 3rd week of April 2025.

The merit would be determined on the grounds of following parameters:

• Symbiosis Entrance Exam for Design (SEED)
• Portfolio Review
• PRPI Task, and
• Personal Interaction.

SEED 2025 Merit list

The Symbiosis Institute of Design had announced the first merit list for SEED 2025 admissions on April 21, 2025. Candidates listed in the above merit list can make payment for the program and fill out the online registration of the program from April 21, 2025 to May 2, 2025. Therefore, the window for paying fees will allow the concerned selected candidates sufficient time for the confirmation of admission. After May 2, 2025, candidates on the waiting list will be considered for provisional admission based on their rank in the merit list, subject to the availability of seats. This process ensures a fair opportunity for all deserving candidates.

SEED 2025 Cutoff

The SEED 2025 cutoff is the minimum score obtained by candidates to qualify them for further stages of the admission process at the Symbiosis Institute of Design, which is SID. The cut off varies with factors including total applicants, the degree of difficulty of the exam, seat availability, and overall performance of the candidates. The SEED 2025 cutoff will determine eligibility for the Portfolio Review & Personal Interaction (PRPI) round. SID usually declares the cutoff after the declaration of SEED 2025 results. Candidates who meet the cutoff can move on to the next round, and those who do not meet the cutoff may not be eligible to proceed further.

SEED 2025 Counselling

SEED Counselling 2025 - The Symbiosis Institute of Design (SID) will BEGIN the counselling for SEED 2025 after the results are announced.

• The seat allotment cum merit list of SEED 2025 will be available on April 21, 2025. The direct link to download the merit list-cum- seat allotment letter will be updated here.
• Download the merit list by logging in to the portal using your candidate login credentials.
• The merit list will contain the names of candidates selected for admission. It will also have merit rank, sectional, and total scores.
• The SID will prepare the merit rank on which the allotment of seats to the B.Des program will be done.
• In contrast, the merit rank of SID 2025 would be prepared based on the cumulative performance of the candidate in the SEED written exam, Portfolio Review, PRPI Task, and Personal Interaction round.
• Candidates included in the merit list have to pay their seat acceptance fee and confirm the seats between April 21 & May 2, 2025. But note that if the payment was not made within the set deadline, the allotment was canceled.
• The written test of SEED-2025 will be conducted on January 12, 2025.

Eligibility Criteria for Participation in SEED 2025 Counseling

Candidates will be shortlisted for SEED 2025 counseling and seat allotment on the basis of their merit rank in the entrance exam conducted by SID.

Merit rank, as elaborated above, is prepared on the cumulative basis considering the performance of a candidate in:

• SEED 2025 written exam
• Portfolio review
• PRPI Task
• Personal interaction.

The 1st merit list-cum-seat allotment of SEED 2025 would be available for download from April 21, 2025. Candidates getting placed in the list must confirm their seats by making a seat-acceptance fee payment within the provided time. If the candidate does not pay, then the seat will be canceled and allocated to the next candidate in the order of merit.
