As the first self-financed engineering college in the state, IEM was founded in 1989 in Kolkata and known as the IT hub of West Bengal. Since then, it has received social accreditation as the state's best self-financed engineering institute and admits the top students from the WBJEE and JEE Main engineering merit lists. The IEM Group's IEM Kolkata has tier 1 NBA accreditation for its management department and an A grade from the NAAC. IEM has been ranked by Outlook 2024 as the 14th Best Private University-Component College in India, the 32nd Best Private B School in India, and the 5th best in the East Zone. IEM College Kolkata provides UG and PG courses to students across 17 departments. These courses are offered in a number of different streams, including engineering and management. IEM Kolkata Admission 2025:

IEM Scholarship 2025:
For full tuition waiver scholarships, full-time M.Tech and Ph.D. students at IEM and UEM who attend in-person classes and maintain a 90% attendance rate each day will be eligible for Teaching Assistantships and Research Assistantships worth Rs. 20,000 (for full-time M.Tech students) and Rs. 30,000 (for full-time Ph.D. students) if their cumulative GPA is 8.0 or higher.
Part-time students, students with jobs, students whose attendance is below 90%, and students who do not have an aggregate of 80% to continue will not be eligible for tuition waiver scholarships or Teaching Assistantships/Research Assistantships.
After a year of study, the TA or RA must publish at least two Scopus or SCI-indexed publications to be eligible for the tuition waiver award and to continue.
IEM Facility 2025:
The campus of IEM Kolkata is nice. The campus of the institute has all the amenities and facilities that students may need while enrolled in classes. Some of the college's infrastructure options include the following:
- High-speed internet and free Wi-Fi are available on campus, providing students with good connectivity.
- A rooftop mini-golf course, a cricket net practice area, a table tennis board, carrom boards, basketball courts, a gymnasium, and other sports facilities are also available on the institute site.
- The well-equipped labs on the IEM Campus are necessary for students to complete their coursework.
- There is a separate dorm on campus for men and female students, and IEM provides students with transportation options.
