UCEED 2025 : Application Process, Eligibility, Admit Card & Result

IIT-conducted exam for Bachelor of Design (B.Des) program admissions.

IIT Bombay will release the admit cards for UCEED 2025 on January 3, 2025, starting at 1 PM. A direct link to download the admit card will be available on the official website. Candidates can download their admit card by logging in with their registered email ID and password.

On the exam day, candidates must bring a printed copy of their admit card and a valid photo ID. It is also important to report to the exam centre according to the reporting time mentioned on the admit card. Latecomers may not be allowed entry into the exam centre.

The UCEED 2025 exam will be held on January 19, 2025. The exam consists of two parts:

  • Part A will be a computer-based test with a total of 57 questions, including Numerical Answer Type (NAT), Multiple Select Questions (MSQ), and Multiple Choice Questions (MCQ). The duration of Part A is 2 hours.
  • Part B will be an offline test, lasting 1 hour, consisting of two questions: one based on sketching and the other on design aptitude.

Please note that Part B answer sheets will only be evaluated if the candidate qualifies for the UCEED 2025 cut-off for Part A.

What is the UCEED Exam?

The Undergraduate Common Entrance Examination for Design (UCEED) is a national-level exam organized by IIT Bombay for admission to the BDes program at several institutes, including IIT Bombay, IIT Delhi, IIT Guwahati, IIT Hyderabad, and IIITDM Jabalpur. Admission to these programs is based on the merit of UCEED scores.

Candidates must obtain a merit rank to participate in the UCEED counselling process. IIT Bombay will carry out the counselling through a Joint Seat Allotment Process.

In addition to the participating institutes, UCEED scores are also accepted by result-sharing institutes. However, these result-sharing institutes do not participate in the Joint Seat Allotment Process. They use UCEED scores to fill a limited number of seats.

The UCEED exam is conducted annually, usually in January. In the most recent exam, over 15,000 candidates registered, with around 13,500 candidates taking the exam.

UCEED Admit Card 2025

Admit cards for UCEED 2025 will be released on January 3, 2025.

The admit card will be issued to all candidates who complete the application process. The candidate has to download the admit card from the UCEED - IIT Bombay admission portal.

The admit card will contain details like the date and time of the UCEED 2025 exam, the name and address of the exam centre, exam timings, reporting time, and exam-day guidelines.

On the day of the exam, candidates had to bring a valid photo ID proof and the admit card.

How to download UCEED Admit Card 2025

  1. Go to the UCEED 2025 admission portal
  2. If the admit card is released, a download link will be activated
  3. Click on the UCEED 2025 admit card download link
  4. A login window will OPEN
  5. Enter your email ID and password
  6. On login, the admit card will be displayed in downloadable PDF format
  7. Download and take a printout of the admit card.

Note: In case of any discrepancy in the UCEED admit card, contact exam officials and get it rectified without any delay. The deadline to fix discrepancies will be announced on the admission portal.

UCEED 2025 Exam Centres

The UCEED 2025 exam will be held in 27 cities across India.

The candidate can select a maximum of THREE cities when filling out the application form.

The exam centre details allocated to the candidate will be mentioned on the UCEED 2025 admit card. On the exam day, the candidate needs to report at the exam centre as per the reporting time.

UCEED Syllabus 2025

IIT Bombay revised the UCEED syllabus in the previous edition of the entrance exam.

Here are the key points about the UCEED syllabus 2025:

  1. The UCEED 2025 question paper has two parts - Part A and Part B
  2. Part A will be administered through a computer-based test consisting of three sections (NAT, MSQ, and MCQ).
  3. Part B will now have TWO questions: one on Drawing and the other on Design aptitude. The question in Part B will be displayed on the computer screen, and the answer has to be written/drawn in the answer book provided by the invigilator only.
  4. A will be 120 minutes, while Part B will be 60 minutes.

Part A will have questions on the following topics:

  • Visualization and spatial reasoning: Ability to visualize and transform 2D shapes and 3D objects and their spatial relationships.
  • Practical and scientific knowledge: Know-how of scientific principles and everyday objects.
  • Observation and design sensitivity: The capacity to detect concealed properties in daily life and think critically about them. Attention to detail, classification, analysis, inference, and prediction.
  • Environment and society: General awareness of environmental, social, and cultural connections with design.
  • Analytical and logical reasoning: Ability to analyze qualitative and quantitative informationrmation.
  • Language: Proficiency in reading and comprehending Standard English.
  • Creativity: Grasp of verbal and non-verbal analogies, metaphors, signs, and symbols.

Part B will have questions on the following topics:

  • Drawing: Ability to draw products, people, or scenes in proportion with good line quality, composition, proportion, perspective, and shading.
  • Design aptitude: Capability to practically and appropriately respond to problems/situations with ingenuity and empathy.

UCEED Exam Pattern 2025

The UCEED exam is divided into two parts - A and B.

As per the official exam pattern of UCEED 2025, Part B will include TWO questions; one on Drawing and the other on Design aptitude. The duration of Paper B will be 60 minutes. The question in Part B will be displayed on the computer screen, and the answer must be written/drawn in the answer book provided by the invigilator.

Further, Part B will be evaluated only if the candidate qualifies for Part A.

UCEED Application Form 2025

The application form for UCEED 2025 has closed.

Candidates who met the prescribed eligibility criteria for the B.Des program had to apply before the last date.

The candidate could apply for UCEED 2025 with regular and late fees.

The late application fee is INR 500.

How to fill out the UCEED application form

To get registered, the candidate had to follow these steps.

  1. Online registration - Click on the registration link. You will be redirected to a registration form. Fill in details like a valid email ID and mobile number. On successful registration, an applicant account will be created.
  2. Fill in the form - The application form will include personal, academic, and contact details. Fill in all the sections. You will also be required to select THREE exam cities in the order of priority.
  3. Upload documents - The candidate has to upload documents like a photograph, signature, date of birth proof, and qualifying exam certificates in the prescribed format.
  4. Pay the application fee - The fee must be paid online. The application fee for the OPEN category is INR 4000, and INR 2000 for reserved category candidates.

UCEED Eligibility Criteria 2025

The candidate must meet the following conditions for admission to the B.Des program offered by the UCEED 2025 participating institutes.

Who is not eligible:

Those who appeared for the first time in their qualifying examination in 2023 or earlier are NOT eligible.

UCEED 2025 Reservation Criteria

The category-wise reservation criteria for the B.Des course at participating colleges is given in the table below.

UCEED Cut-off 2025

IIT Bombay will release cutoff marks for Part A on February 6, 2025. The cut-offs will be released in the form of mean and standard deviations.

Part B answer booklets will be evaluated only if the candidate meets Part cut-off marks. Also, all candidates who met the cut-off were shortlisted.

  • Part A cut-offs will be released category-wise.
  • Part B answer booklets of the candidate are evaluated only if he or she meets the cut-off.
  • Shortlisting of candidates: All candidates who meet the cut-off will be shortlisted.
  • The cut-off mark is calculated by using a specific formula
  • Ranking: ALL candidates who get shortlisted will be allocated a rank
  • Part B paper of candidates who fail to get shortlisted will not evaluated and they weren't assigned any ranks
  • IIT Bombay does not share the evaluated papers of Part B
  • The evaluation of Part B is done manually.

Release of UCEED 2025 admission cut-off

IIT Bombay will release the category-wise cut-off marks for admission to the B.vDes program. Candidates who meet the cut-off rank in their category are eligible for admission to the B.Des program for Round I.

UCEED Answer Key 2025

IIT Bombay will release the draft answer key of UCEED 2025 on January 21, 2025. The question paper for UCEED 2025 will be released alongside the answer key.

Here are a few key points related to the UCEED 2025 answer key:

  • The draft answer key will contain the official answers to questions asked in the entrance exam.
  • The candidate can use the keys to calculate probable scores.
  • The candidate can also submit Objections against the draft answer key. Complaints must be submitted through the candidate portal; comments or objections sent by mail or other modes will not be accepted.
  • It may be noted that the order of questions in the question paper may vary for each candidate, so they must use the Master Question Paper to upload complaints/queries.
  • The candidates' responses for Part A - UCEED 2025 can be downloaded only till the declaration of exam results.

The final answer key of UCEED 2025 will be released after considering feedback from the candidate on January 29, 2025.

UCEED Results 2025

IIT Bombay will declare the results of UCEED 2024 on March 7, 2035. The results will be declared online at the UCEED 2025 admission portal.

You will need your registered email ID and password to check the results.

The UCEED 2025 scorecard will be available for download soon after exam results are declared.

How to check Uthe CEED 2025 result

The result of UCEED 2025 will be declared online. Follow these steps to check your results.

  1. Go to the UCEED 2025 admission portal and click on the result link
  2. A log-in window will open
  3. Enter your registered email ID and password
  4. On successful log-in, the UCEED 2025 result will be displayed on the screen
  5. Download and print out the results.

The UCEED 2025 scorecard will contain the following details:

  • Part A marks
  • Category-wise qualifying marks
  • Candidate details include name, roll number, photograph, and signature.
  • Note: Part B marks, merit ranks, and UCEED 2024 scores will be available ONLY for shortlisted candidates.
