IIT Bombay will release the UCEED 2025 Part A cutoff marks on February 6, 2025. The Part A cutoff will be used to shortlist candidates for further evaluation. It is important to note that the Part B answer booklets will only be assessed if the candidate has met the Part A cutoff. Additionally, candidates who qualify for the Part A cutoff will receive their total marks and category-wise merit ranks. The UCEED 2025 scorecard will only contain Part A marks for candidates who do not meet the cutoff. The cutoff will be presented as the mean and standard deviation of marks obtained by all candidates in Part A. The cutoff marks for the first round of seat allotment in UCEED 2025 will be released on April 21, 2025. This category-wise cutoff will include the opening and closing ranks for admission to the B.Des program in participating colleges. There will be separate cutoffs for each round of the UCEED 2025 seat allotment process, which consists of five rounds.
Difference Between Qualifying Cutoff and Admission Cutoff
The qualifying cutoff refers to the marks candidates must achieve in Part A to be shortlisted. Those who meet this cutoff will have their Part B paper evaluated, and only these candidates will be issued merit ranks. On the other hand, the admission cutoff is the minimum mark required for candidates to be considered for seat allotment and admission. The admission cutoff is institute-specific.

Shortlisting of Candidates for UCEED 2025
Candidates will be shortlisted based on their marks in Part A. The cutoff for shortlisting candidates in the Open category will be determined as follows: the cutoff marks will be the mean marks plus half the standard deviation of the distribution of marks obtained by all candidates in Part A. The mean and standard deviation will be rounded to two decimal places. Candidates in the reserved categories will have a relaxed cutoff, which will be 90% of the cutoff for OBC-NCL/EWS candidates and 50% of the cutoff for SC/ST/PwD candidates.
