Part A - Types of Questions and Marking Scheme

Section 1: Numerical Answer Type (NAT)

  • There are 14 questions in this section. Each question carries 4 marks, and there are no negative marks for incorrect answers. These questions require candidates to enter a numerical answer, which must be input using a virtual keyboard.

Section 2: Multiple Select Questions (MSQ)

  • There are 15 questions in this section. Each question has one or more correct answers, and candidates must select all correct options to score full marks. If fewer than the required number of correct options is selected, partial marks may be awarded depending on the number of correct answers chosen.

Section 3: Multiple Choice Questions (MCQ)

  • This section includes 28 questions. Each correct answer earns 3 marks, and incorrect answers result in a penalty of 0.71 marks.

Part B - Key informationrmation

  • Part B consists of two questions: one related to sketching and the other related to design aptitude.
  • The questions will be shown on the computer screen, but answers must be written/drawn in an answer booklet provided by the invigilator.
  • Both questions in Part B are mandatory. Failure to attempt either of the two questions will result in disqualification from the examination process.

Note that PwD candidates using a scribe are not allowed any additional help in Part B, as the purpose of this section is to assess their drawing skills. At the end of the exam, candidates must hand in their Part B answer booklets to the invigilators.

Update on UCEED 2025 Exam Pattern

Along with the syllabus, the exam pattern for UCEED 2025 has also undergone changes. The main changes are:

  • Part A will have three sections: Numerical Answer Type (NAT), Multiple Select Question (MSQ), and Multiple Choice Questions (MCQ).
  • Part B now has two questions: one drawing-based question and one design aptitude-based question. The duration for Part B has also been extended to 60 minutes (up from 30 minutes).
