The University of Jammu was founded in 1969 as per the Kashmir and Jammu Universities Act. It is one of the leading institutes. The National Assessment & Accreditation Council of India has granted the University of Jammu an A+ grade. The university creates provisions for research, knowledge advancement, and dissemination in addition to offering education in subjects it thinks appropriate. Against the backdrop of the sacred Trikuta Hills, the university represents life's material and spiritual aspects and a desire for knowledge and virtue. Exams, degrees, knowledge creation, and various academic distinctions are all offered by the University of Jammu to those who enrol in authorized courses of study at the university or its affiliated colleges and institutions and those who apply as external or private candidates. It also confers honorary degrees or other distinctions on persons of exceptional calibre. Candidates for admission into the undergraduate courses of the University of Jammu must have passed class 10+2 from a recognized Board (ISC, ICSE, CBSE, NIOS or any other equivalent). The minimum qualifying marks will be 50% for all the categories. The university also considers CUET (UG) and CUET (PG) entrance examinations for admission into undergraduate and postgraduate courses, respectively.
