MCKVIE was established in 1999 as a part of the MCKV group. MCKV Engineering College is affiliated with the Maulana Abul Kalam Azad University of Technology (MAKAUT), in West Bengal. MCKV College is approved by AICTE and UGC. MCKV Kolkata, through eight departments, offers UG and PG courses to students across the Management, Engineering, and other streams. The Institute has recently signed an MoU with the Engineering Institute of Technology, Perth, Australia, and now works in collaboration with the same in the fields of education, research & student exchange programs.

The B.Tech course has 9 specializations and admission to the course will be based on the performance in either JEE Mains or WBJEE. M.Tech admissions at MCKVIE are done on the basis of valid GATE scores or PGET conducted by MAKAUT.

Eligibility Criteria for B.Tech

• The candidate must passed the 10+2 examination in the Science stream along with Chemistry/Biology/Computer Science/Computer
• Admission to the course will be either based on the performance in JEE Mains or WBJEE (JEM).
• 80% seats of the approved intake in a college are allocated to the WBJEE (JEM) qualified candidates.
• 10% of seats of such intake are allocated to the JEE Mains qualified candidates

Eligibility Criteria for M.Tech

• Candidates need to have a valid GATE score or PGET score to be eligible for admission.
• The candidate must qualify UG degree from a recognized university

Ranking of MCKV Institute of Engineering

MCKV B.Tech ranking by India Today is 220 out of 246 colleges in India in 2023 and it was 226 out of 238 colleges in India in 2022. The institution is accredited by NBA and with A Grade by NAAC. MCKV Institute of Engineering is ranked 158 by THE TIMES 2022 for BTech. MCKV B.Tech ranking by The Times Of India is 158 out of 200 colleges in India in 2022.

Placement of MCKV Institute of Engineering

Each year, several companies visit the campus for MCKV Institute of Engineering placements, including Infosys, HCL, Ericsson, Genpact, and many others. According to the MCKVIE, Howrah placement report 2023 (NIRF Data), out of 371 eligible students for MCKVIE UG placements, 330 students (UG 4 years) were placed with a median salary of Rs. 4,00,000 per annum, while 6 students opted for higher studies.
