Holy Cross College (Autonomous) Tiruchirappalli is a leading Arts and Science College for women in the state of Tamil Nadu. It is a Catholic Institution established in the year 1923 for the benefit of the young girls of Tiruchirappalli.
The college administered by the sisters of the Cross of Chavanod, Province of Tiruchirappalli, is affiliated to the Bharathidasan University and it is one among the oldest colleges for women in South India.
The college was recognised by UGC as ‘College with potential for excellence’ in October 2011 and the CPE status has been extended till 2022.
As per the National Institutional Ranking Framework (NIRF) by MHRD, the college was ranked 26th for the year 2017, 42nd for the year 2018, 85th in 2019, 66th in the 2020, 49th in 2021, 67th in 2022 and 40th in 2023.

Human Resource Development Centre founded by the Holy Cross College alumnae association of the college has been providing placement opportunities to the candidates.
HRD also conducts training programmes to equip the students with employability skills for better job opportunities. In addition, it also conducts classes on driving, keyboard, & Guitar for the benefit of the students.
HRD mainly functions through a career guidance cell which focuses on training and campus placement cell for organising interviews for the final year students and for the alumni.

Holy Cross College (Autonomous) has instituted management scholarships for students with the help of management, retired faculty members, alumnae association and from various non governmental organisations. Endowment scholarships provide financial support for education for the poor students.
Institutional scholarship was provided for sports students. Meritorious students were benefited by platinum jubilee scholarship.
Holy Cross College (Autonomous) streamlines the scholarship offered by the government of Tamil Nadu to the eligible students and help students belonging to SC/ST/SCC, BC/MBC/DNC, HESS ( higher educational special scholarship), farmer welfare, scheme, central sector scheme and post matric minority scheme.
