Important Documents
The list of important documents that one must arrange before application are:
- Mark sheets of 10th, 12th, and graduation.
- Aadhar Card or any other identification card
- Caste certificate
- Transfer or migration certificate
- Passport size recent colored photograph of maximum 50 kbs
- Signature photograph of a maximum of 50 kbs (signed with black pen on white paper)
The above-mentioned important documents should be in scanned copies of the original documents. The application fee for UG and PG programs is INR 354 plus 18% GST charges. The application fees will be paid online. The university will accept no other modes.

PhD Admissions
The PhD program admissions for the January 2025 session have already started from 1st December 2025 and the last date to apply is 31st December 2025. Students have access to the University of Madras' official website to apply for admission to the PhD program.
- The application fee for PhD admissions is INR 1,770 only and the mode of payment considered is online. The application cost is waived for those who fall under the SC/ST category.
- The entrance examination for PhD admissions is assigned 50 marks. There are 35 marks for the written exam and 15 marksfor the oral exam. The other 50 marks are assigned to the PG degree.
The candidates are requested to bring the important documents when they visit the university for the verification process. The important documents consist of all previous mark sheets, certificates, and fee receipts of the application form. They also have to bring the entrance exam scorecard if they have appeared.
