Uttarakhand Technical University, located near Dehradun, was established in 2005. UTU is a public university accredited by the UGC and the state's only affiliating university for technical institutions. Aside from these, the university has eight constituent colleges.
The University offers undergraduate, graduate, and doctoral courses. This university also offers a Doctorate course (Ph.D.) with four specialisations. Admission to these Graduate Programmes is done through written tests or interviews conducted by the institute. Graduate status is essential for postgraduate courses. Post-graduate studies are required for doctoral programs.

Aside from the courses mentioned above, the college offers B. Pharma., B. Arch., BHMCT, BBA, LLB, BALLB, BBA LLB, Bachelor of Nursing / B. P. Ed. / BJMC, B.Sc. (Hons.), BA, B.Ed., and BHM at the UG level, as well as MCA, MA, M.Sc., MPT, Master in Animated & Special Effects, Diploma Courses at the PG level.
UTU: Admission 2024
Admission to undergraduate courses is based on the inter-se merit of the Uttarakhand State Entrance Examination (UKSEE). A merit list will be created based on the marks and scores. Qualifying students must appear for counselling.
Candidates with 50% to 60% marks and a valid GATE score for General/OBC candidates will be given precedence for admission. Candidates with valid and qualified GATE scores are not required to take the University admission exams. During counselling, the first few seats will be filled by qualifying GATE applicants, and the remaining seats will be filled based on the University Entrance Examination (UKSEE). Admission to MCA, MBA, MA, MPT, M.Sc., and Diploma is based on the overall merit of the Uttarakhand State Entrance Examination (UKSEE).
Admission to the Ph.D. program will be based on the University's admission exams.

The university has a rather decent placement record. The placement process is rather simple, and the college's placement cell is also really helpful.
The maximum package offered by UTU is 56 lakhs.
Students are placed in businesses such as Wipro, Infosys, TCS, IBM, HCL, Emicon, Arnav Infosoft, Eminence, Amazon, and many more.
Students receive an average package of INR 3 to 4 lakhs each year, which is a good start for newcomers.
The placement cell works hard, and every year, around 80% of the batch is placed.
Every student has the same opportunity for an internship at the college. The college has a strong policy of not allowing a candidate to sit two internship tests if he is shortlisted by one employer.
UTU: Scholarship
The scholarship is offered by the state or federal government. Loans are accessible to students across all degrees. Merit students, as well as those from SC, ST, or OBC backgrounds, are eligible for the scholarship. Eligible candidates can fill out the scholarship application form during the times specified in the Uttarakhand Technical University official release.
The Centrally Sponsored Scheme National Means-cum-Merit Scholarship Scheme (NMMSS) was established in May 2008. The scheme's goal is to provide scholarships to deserving children from economically disadvantaged backgrounds in order to prevent them from dropping out of eighth grade and encourage them to continue their education at the secondary level.
Every year, selected students are offered a scholarship of INR 6000/- per year (INR.500/- per month) by the state government, government-aided institutions, and local body schools.
There is a quota of scholarships for each state/UT. Students whose parental income from all sources does not exceed INR 1,50,000/- are eligible for the scholarships. The State Bank of India disburses scholarships directly into students' bank accounts on a quarterly basis.
UTU Facilities
The university provides practically every fundamental amenity to both students and teachers. Some of the important facilities are listed below:
Library: All books in one spot; no need to browse randomly or purchase price books. This demonstrates the significance of the library. The library houses 2014 books of CSE, 1635 books of ECE, 1386 books of EE, 1965 books of ME, and 1172 books of civil. Each branch has around 60 titles that students can refer to and learn from.
sporting: The University provides sporting facilities for all students. The students can be both physically healthy and mentally relaxed.
I.T Infrastructure: The university provides great IT infrastructure for its students.
Auditorium: The University has an auditorium available for events and seminars.
Laboratories: The University provides a departmental laboratory facility for students.
Classrooms: The University provides well-equipped classroom facilities on campus.
Cafeteria: The university offers a well-equipped and clean canteen that serves fresh and nutritious cuisine to its students. A mess is supposed to be spacious, open, and structured in order to create an amiable and home-like atmosphere while serving nutritious and healthful food in the most sanitary manner possible. The program is established weekly based on the vegetarian and non-vegetarian preferences of the students.
Transport: The university provides a bus service to pick up and drop off students from their hostels. The roomy vehicle can accommodate around 50 pupils at a time. This helps students develop timeliness.
Medical/Hospital: Medical aid is also provided to students. The ambulance service is available 24 hours a day, seven days a week in case of an emergency. The college collaborates with top hospitals to provide substantial treatments to its ailing pupils.
