The National Institute of Engineering (NIE), founded in 1946, has grown into a prestigious institution ranked 151st among top engineering colleges in India, including esteemed institutions such as IITs and NITs, according to the Ministry of Human Resources Development's (MHRD) National Institutional Ranking Framework (NIRF-2023). NIE has grant-in-aid status and is accredited by the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) in New Delhi. It received autonomous status from Visvesvaraya Technological University, Belagavi, in 2007 and is accredited by NAAC.

Similarly, Master of Science (M.Sc) courses cost Rs.55,590 for the first year, and Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D) programmes cost Rs.25,000. The Master of Computer Applications (MCA) programme has a first-year cost of Rs.86,900.

NIE Mysore BTech admission is dependent on KCET scores. The KCET 2024 application process is currently active. The deadline to register for the exam is February 10, and application fees can be paid until February 14, 2024. Non-Karnataka candidates can apply for BE/BArch admissions based on their COMEDK-UGET 2024 scores. The COMEDK-UGET 2024 application can be completed online between February 1 and April 5, 2024.
