Sri Adichunchanagiri Shikshana Trust (SAST) established SJB Institute of Technology (SJBIT) in 2001 under the leadership of His Holiness Jagadguru Padma Bhushana Dr. Sri Sri Sri Balagangadharanatha Maha Swamiji. Beginning with the 2023–2024 academic year, SJBIT will have autonomous status within Visvesvaraya Technological University (VTU), Belagavi, Karnataka. SJBIT is on 13 acres of land with a built-up area of 58967.43 square meters, surrounded by peace and quiet. SJBIT is dedicated to intellectual, social, and personal development, emphasising a thorough educational curriculum that raises academic standards. SJBIT is accredited with an ‘A+’ Grade ( CGPA of 3.46) by the NAAC. The institute also ranked #151-300 in the Innovation category as per NIRF Rankings 2023.

The Karnataka P.U.C. test or its equivalent must provide at least 45% of the potential points in mathematics, physics, and chemistry to be admitted to BE. For SC/ST applicants, this ratio is set at 40%. To be eligible to enroll in the M.Tech program, candidates must have passed the necessary qualifying BE/B.Tech exam with at least 50% of the total marks from all semesters and years of the degree test (cumulative sum of secured marks from all semesters and years divided by the sum of maximum marks). Karnataka SC, ST, and Cat-1 candidates must earn at least 45% of the possible points. Candidates are eligible to participate in the MBA program if they have completed the Bachelor's degree with at least 50%, or integer 50% (rounding off aggregate percent is not permitted), of the marks in the sum of all the years of the degree exams. The total percentage of marks from all qualifying exam years for Karnataka applicants who are SC/ST and Cat-1 shall not be less than 45% or an integer of 45% (rounding off the total percentage is not allowed).
