SIT Eligibility Criteria

Eligibility Criteria For Undergraduate Process

• Completion of 10+2 with Physics, Mathematics, and Chemistry/Biology/Biotechnology/Computer Science/Electronics as optional subjects.
• Candidates must have a minimum score of 45% in the respective subjects.
• Candidates must have a valid score in KCET or COMEDK entrance exams.

Eligibility Criteria For Post Graduate Process

• Minimum 50% marks in graduation in the relevant or allied discipline.

SIT Admission

At Siddaganga Institute of Technology, applications are accepted both offline and online. After completing the online admissions process, students must visit the institution alone to have their documents verified. However, admissions for all courses can be completed online.

In SIT, candidates with CET scores account for 45% of the total seats, COMED-K candidates account for 30% of the total seats, and JEE main score applicants who meet the Management Quota account for the remaining seats. The SIT's course-by-course admissions procedure is listed below:

Undergraduate Courses

• Karnataka candidates must take the KCET test. Candidates from other states must pass the COMEDK exam in order to be admitted to BE programs.
• Students that pass the exam are required to attend the counseling round, where they can choose the college that best suits them based on their ranking.
• CS/IT and Circuital branches need to be ranked up to 3000. To get a place in this institute, 10,000 rank is enough for Mechanical and Civil departments.

Postgraduate Courses

• A candidate is given consideration for admission to MTech courses if they have a valid GATE score or PGCET of Karnataka.

How to apply?

• Candidates can visit the KCET website to apply through the Karnataka CET.
• The KCET website offers a download for the information brochure.
• After entering all the necessary information as provided in the information brochure, candidates must next fill out and submit the online application form.
• Through e-Challan, the application cost can be paid online.
• It is necessary to upload scanned copies of the candidate's passport-size photos, signature, thumb impression from the left hand of the candidate, and parent's signature.
• The following documents must be kept on file by candidates for use as references in future correspondence.
  • At least three printouts of the finally submitted online application.
  • Evidence of payment: two to three scanned copies of the same photo that you uploaded online.
• Admit cards for the CET will be sent to all qualified applicants. Applicants must keep their admit card until they are admitted to the college.
• Candidates from outside of Karnataka may apply via COMEDK.

For Ph.D. Programs

• Those interested in applying for Ph.D. programs should pick up an application form at the admission cell of the institute.
• You can pay the application cost using a demand draft or cash. The application form and all necessary documentation must be received by the institute's admission office by the deadline.

SIT Placement

Among the affiliated institutions of Visvesvaraya Technological University, SIT is the first to set up a full-fledged Training and Placement Department managed by a senior professor with industrial experience. Below the scholarships are divided into two type of categories:

1)Sri Sripathi K.A. Memorial Scholarship:

• The student must have secured his/her admission through CET placement only.
• The student should demonstrate good academic standing and should also have good co-curriculars.
• The student must demonstrate the financial need with all sources of income of the student. His/her family not to exceed INR 3.00 lakh per annum.
• Student's immediate family member including his/her brother/sister should not be Government employee/employee and should not be in any government industry/ company/organisation.
• The student should maintain good discipline with the administration/faculty and staff members of S.I.T.
• For first semester students, the criteria for selection will be based on the marks scored in the Pre-University Examination.

2)Dr. M.N. Channabasappa Endowment Fund Loan Scholarship:

• Award of loan scholarship is purely based on merit list.
• Students who are from financially weak backgrounds are provided the Scholarship.
• Students who are getting financial assistance more than 30% of the total fee from any source will strictly not be eligible for the award of loan scholarship.
• From the list of top 10 students, only one with the best performance in an interview would get the scholarship.
