Sri Vishnu Engineering College for Women was established by the Sri Vishnu Educational Society in 2001. Since 2011, the college has been associated with Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University (JNTU), Kakinada, and it was accredited by the NBA for five years beginning in 2008. The college offers bachelor's and master's degrees in a variety of technology fields. It also provides Professional Programmes in Business and Computer Applications.
SVECW has been named the Best Consumer of APEPDCL in the West Godavari District for its utilisation of alternative energy sources. The college has also been awarded autonomy by the UGC. SVECW has 100 acres and consists of buildings, residences, auditoriums, playgrounds, colleges, and parking lots. The Asia Pacific Quality Organisation (APQO) awarded the institute the Global Performance Excellence Award on the 15th October 2012.

SVECW Placement
The institute has a specialised training and placement cell that is actively trying to provide students with both job prospects and professional training. Accenture, Capgemini, Hyundai Mobis, Infosys, TCS, IBM, HCL, Hexaware, Cognisant, Flipkart, Wipro, Adobe, Amazon, L&T, Mahindra, and a number of other companies are among the SVECW recruiters. In the 2016-2020 batch, 789 students have been placed at the aforementioned firms, with Capgemini and Accenture being the top recruiters.
SVECW Facilities.
The institute provides students with state-of-the-art infrastructure and world-class facilities. The provisions available to students are as follows:
- Library: The college has a digitalised central library that is well-stocked with quality books on the various courses taught here. There are 50,731 books, 7,766 titles, and 958 journal back volumes.
- Auditorium: The SVECW has an indoor auditorium, an open-air auditorium, a mini-auditorium, and a variety of seminar rooms. The college includes a well-furnished and well-equipped seminar hall that can hold 250 people apiece.
- Computer Centre: The computer centre houses about 3000 computer terminals. The campus also offers unrestricted WiFi access.
- Boat Club- A boating club was established on the campus for the benefit of the pupils. It now contains three boats, and the pond is located in the northeast corner of the third phase of campus.
