The School of Open Learning, which is a part of the Campus of Open Learning, was first founded in 1962 by the University of Delhi as The School of Correspondence Courses and Continuing Education. It was the first institution of its kind in India for distance learning.
When the SOL opened its doors in 1962 with 900 students, the nation saw the birth of a new alternative kind of education. Over two lakh students were enrolled in the University for the 2006-2007 academic year. Our students have won numerous awards for performance in a variety of subjects. The University of Delhi's regulations regulate the admissions procedure for the School's many courses. The University of Delhi administers the test as well.
Students in the College receive their degrees from the University of Delhi in the same manner as students at its other member colleges. The educational programs offered by the University of Delhi's constituent institutions and departments of the School of Open Learning. Beginning with the 1990-1991 academic year, the school constructed the South Study Center in Moti Bagh in an attempt to meet the demands of an increasing number of students. The school is in the process of opening Study Centers in the Eastern and Western parts of Delhi's National Capital Region in an attempt to reach out to more students. SOL DU BMS:
- For General Candidates: Student must have received 45% of the possible points from a single, accredited board in Class XII or its equivalent test.
- For EWS/OBC: Candidates needs to have received 40.5% of the possible points from a single, recognized board in Class XII or its equivalent test.
- For Candidates Who Are SC/ST/PwD: The candidate needs to have passed Class XII or an equivalent test from a single, recognized board.
SOL DU B.Com:

Course details:
C CATEGORY - Admission fee of Rs. 13,143 including Examination Fee of Semester 1 & 2: Rs.905/- (12238+905 = Rs 13,143/-) at the time of admission need to pay online by PWD category students
D CATEGORY - At the time of admission Orphan students have to pay Rs.20/- in which 10 Rs. For Admission fee and 10 Rs. Examination fee. Orphans are exempted from all types of fees. Please note: In each programme of study University reserves only two seats for orphans.
E CATEGORY - Central Police Armed Forces and Armed forces. -¢ In service personnels will get 75% fee discount. -¢ Superannuated personnels will get 50 % fee discount -¢ Wards of Category E persons will get 25% fee discount.
F CATEGORY - For Transgender candidates its 100% fee discount.
