It was established in 1964, Pt. Ravishankar Shukla University (PRSU) is Chhattisgarh's largest and oldest institution of higher education. PRSU is accredited by the NAAC with a -˜B++' grade and ranked 151-200 by NIRF 2023 among the top universities in India. The university has a huge campus of 300.16 acres in the western part of the capital of Chhattisgarh, Raipur. PRSU has a total enrollment of over 5000 students and 100 faculty members. With 29 departments and 156 affiliated colleges, PRSU offers UG, PG, PG Diploma, Diploma, Doctoral, and Post Doctoral programs. Admissions at PRSU are made based on scores obtained in the entrance examination.

PRSU Admission Process

PRSU admissions to all courses (except MBA/MBA Tourism and B.Pharm) are based on scores obtained in the entrance examination conducted by the university. For admission to MBA and MBA Tourism, aspirants are required to appear for the CMAT entrance examination. B.Pharm admissions are made through the CG Pre Pharmacy Test (PPHT) conducted by the Chhattisgarh Professional Examination Board (CPEB), Raipur. PRSU admissions usually begin in June or July every year. The application process for admission is completely online. Aspirants can register online through the official website at prsu.ac.in.

PRSU Placements

PRSU has a placement cell that conducts on-campus placement drives. Graduates from PRSU are placed in leading companies such as Axis Bank, Tata Consultancy Services, Infosys, Cognizant, and many others. PRSU placement 2024 report is yet to be released. According to the NIRF 2024 submitted by the university, 24 UG and 121 PG students were placed during the placement drive of 2023. The placement highlights are given in the table below:

PRSU Scholarships

PRSU offers various scholarships for students based on merit or who are financially weak. Students can also apply for numerous AICTE, UGC, state governments, and central government scholarships. For central government scholarships, one has to visit the National Scholarship Portal (NSP) portal and fill out the form for the scholarship they wish to avail.
