NIT Durgapur admissions to various UG, PG and doctorate level programs are based on national level exams accepted by the institute. With primary focus on engineering, the two major programs of the institute are BTech and MTech. Admission to the B.Tech program is based on JEE Main rank, whereas, MTech admissions require GATE scores followed by CCMT Counseling. Candidates applying for these courses must have a rank between 4400-40000 in the JEE Main exam for the BTech program. For the MTech program, the desirable GATE rank is between 400-800.

Apart from this, NIT Durgapur also offers other courses like MSc, MCA and MBA depending upon other national level entrance exams. However, for MBA, one needs to have a CAT score. • The MAT 2024 registration for the December session is open for the CBT Phase 1 exam with a last date of Nov 30, 2024. In case of PBT and CBT Phase 2 exams, registration will be closed on Dec 7 and Dec 15, 2024 respectively. Additionally, MAT 2024 CBT Phase 1, PBT, and CBT Phase 2 exams will take place on Dec 7, Dec 14, and Dec 22, 2024 respectively.
• CMAT 2025 application for admission into the MBA, PGDM, and MMS courses is now available; last date to submit application forms is Dec 13, 2024. CMAT 2025 will take place on Jan 25, 2025.
• The GPAT cutoff percentile 2024 for admission into the MPharma course was declared. Candidates can view and download the cutoff from the official website.
• The IIT JAM 2025 online registration process for admission to the MSc course has closed now. The IIT JAM 2025 exam is scheduled to be held on Feb 2, 2025.
• JEE Main 2025 Session 1 registration had closed for BTech, BArch, and BPlan courses, and the JEE Main 2025 Session 1 exam had been scheduled to be taken from Jan 22 till Jan 31, 2025.

National Institute of Technology - B.Tech Admission

The institute provides a 4 years (8 Semester) B.Tech course in nine specializations. Basic eligibility, specializations, and selection criteria for B.Tech programme are as follows.

• Those aspiring to join BTech at NIT should pass 10 + 2 from any renowned board of study in PCM only.
• A candidate must have scored at least 60% of marks in aggregate and must be eligible to give JEE Main exam.
• To get admission into the B.Tech programme offered at NIT, the candidate is taken in according to his merit gained in JEE Main.
• The seat allotment occurs after the successful completion of the JoSAA counselling process.

How to apply for JEE Main?

After the candidate meets all the eligibility criteria, he/she has to undergo JEE- Main for selection. Steps to apply are as follows:-

• Visit the official website of JEE- Main.
• Click on the 'Register' button.
• Make a note of the system-generated application number.
• Create a password.
• Click on the login and fill the form.
• Upload scanned images of photographs and signatures.
• A fee of 650 INR will be charged (325 INR for reserved categories) It should be paid through debit card, credit card, net banking, UPI or paytm. Take a printout of the application form for later use.

How to Apply for JoSAA Counselling?

After a candidate qualifies the JEE-Main, they will have to undergo counseling before final selection. The procedure for registering for counselling is mentioned below:

• Click on the registration page at the official JoSAA website.
• Use the application number from the JEE Main application.
• Make sure that the candidate profile is correct
• Click on 'Submit changes'.
• Fill in the names of your preferred colleges and specializations from the list that follows.
• Lock your preferred choices by clicking on the checkbox 'I agree to lock my choices'.
• Download the page for future reference
• Upon filling all the required details submit the same and proceed for online payment of the counseling fees, which are currently 800 INR

National Institute of Technology - M.Tech Admission

The institute offers a 2 years (4 Semester) M.Tech program in 19 specializations. Details of basic eligibility, specialization and selection criteria for MTech program are as below.

• Candidates for admission to the MTech program should have passed graduation preferably B.Tech in the concerned discipline.
• A candidate must have scored at least 60% of marks in aggregate and must be eligible to take the GATE exam.
• In all, the selection to MTech at NIT takes place on the basis of a merit scored in GATE by the candidate.
• Seat allotment will be done after counseling is successfully completed through the CCMT.

• Register through the link by entering the candidate's name, email ID and mobile number.
• After the form is submitted, an enrollment ID will be sent to the candidate's mobile number.
• Fill out the application form.
• The fee will be Rs. 1,500, which is 750 for women and reserved categories. This fee needs to be paid online. Download the form and take a print of it.

How to apply for CCMT?

Those who make the cut in GATE will be called for counseling and are to be done through the CCMT. The following are steps for registering for the process at the CCMT:

The institute offers a 2 years (4 Semester) MBA program. Below are the basic eligibility, specializations and selection criteria for MBA programmes:.

• The candidates who seek admission in the MBA program must possess a graduation degree in any discipline.
• It has to be at least 60% marks scored in graduation and he/ she is eligible to give the CAT examination.
• Selection to the MBA program in NIT is strictly based on merit scored by the candidate in CAT.
• The seat allotment takes place after the counselling process and group discussion rounds are fully completed.

How to Apply for the CAT?

Eligible applicants for MBA admissions need to appear for the CAT to gain admission. To apply follow these steps

• New users click on Registration.
• Read the instructions.
• Enter the required details to obtain OTP.
• Input the OTP and verify.
• Tick mark 'I Agree' and submit the CAT application form.

National Institute of Technology - M.Sc Admission

The NIT Durgapur provides a two-year M.Sc in six specializations, such as Chemistry, Environmental Science, Physics, Mathematics, and Biotechnology. For entry into the program, candidates are required to take the IIT JAM entrance examination.

• At least a bachelor's degree in the relevant discipline with at least 55% aggregate marks from a recognized university or institute.
• A valid score in the IIT JAM entrance examination.

• Visit the website of CCMN and click on New Registration.
• Add the details about JAM score.
• Enter the personal details carefully.
• Click on proceed' to preview the filled-up form.
• Create a password and click on Submit. An OTP will be sent to your number. Enter the OTP. A Permanent Identifier (PID) will be created. Once this happens, no more registration will be allowed. Use this to log on to the Candidate's Corner from the next time onwards.

NIT Durgapur provides a PhD program under 10 distinct departments to the Full-Time/Part-Time/Sponsored candidates. The institute accepts national entrance tests like CSIR/ UGC/ GATE/ JAM/ GPAT/ DBT-JRF/ JEST/ ICMR/ ICAR/ NBHM, etc.

• The candidate must hold a B.E/B.Tech/B.Arch/B.Pharm degree with a minimum of 70% marks or a CGPA of 7.5 (65% marks or a CGPA of 7.0 for SC/ST candidates.).
