Marri Laxman Reddy Institute of Technology was established in 2005 by the KMR Education Trust which is led by Mr. Marri Laxman Reddy. The Institution is affiliated with the Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University, Hyderabad (JNTUH). MLRIT was granted -˜Autonomous' status by the University Grants Commission (India) in 2015.

The Marri Laxman Reddy Institute of Technology offers one scholarship, namely, -˜Cybage Khushboo Scholarship'. The institution and the Cybage Khushboo Charitable Trust has signed an MoU. According to this MoU, around 15 scholarships are awarded to B.Tech students who meet the following eligibility criterias-

• They must've scored 60%+ marks in Class 10, Class 12th or Diploma.
• Annual income of their family must be less than INR 4 LPA.
• They have secured or are seeking admission in any Government or Private Institution based on their merit.
• Only B.Tech pursuing students are eligible for this scholarship.

The MLRIT Hyderabad provides excellent Placement Opportunities and Training to its students. As per 2023 Placement Report, a total of 658+ students were placed, 733+ offers were offered to students and a highest salary package of INR 58 LPA. According to the MLRIT Placement 2022 Report, more than 600 students participated in the placement process and 43 companies and 38 MNC's visited the campus for recruitment. A total of 550+ students were placed and around 1250 offers were made during the 2022 placements.
