Karnataka State Open University Popularly Known as KSOU based in Mysore, established in the year of 1996 as a premier university under the act of State Legislature in 1992 and was started from 1st June 1996. It is also recognised by the Distance Education Council, IGNOU, Maidan Garhi, New Delhi and UGC.The University offers programs like UG,PG, Diploma and PhD programs. For these programs it offers different courses which include BA, BSc, BCA, BCom, BLIb.Sc, MLIS, MA, MCom, MSc, MCA, BEd, LLM level etc in various levels and in various departments. Every year, it offers around 1000+ seats for eligible students.The college provides Facilities like Auditorium, Hostels, canteens, labs for every department , Gym, sports complex , library full of available books and many others.

Application process

Follow the step-by-step admission procedure:

1.  Visit the Official website at https://www.ksoumysuru.ac.in/ , go to the online programs tab and click the apple button.
2. Enter the personal details like name, address and marks obtained etc followed by selection of course/program.
3. After Filling the application form, submit the required documents like Scanned Passphoto, Signature, marksheets etc.
4. Applications can be filled in online mode and offline mode.
5. Application fee for general category is around 500 to 300/- INR, 250 to 100/- INR for reservation category.
6. Print the application and keep it for future use.
7. Keep the reference number with you for future use.

KSOU Eligibility Criteria

The eligibility Criteria will differ for various programs. Under the UG program, for courses like BA, BSc, BCom, BSW, BCA, B.Lib.Sc, BEd, it requires candidates with a minimum of 45%-40% aggregate in a 10+2 equivalent higher qualifying exam recognised by related boards with relevant subjects.Also, for PG program, it requires candidates with a minimum of 50% aggregate for general (45% for reservation candidates) in graduation with relevant discipline .For Phd program, it requires candidates with good merit in master degree.

Fees and Scholarships

The fee structure for the various levels of programs such as UG, PG, Diploma and Phd will be in the range of around 4,000 to 12,000 Indian rupees(INR) per year. The detailed program wise fee structure is shown below :
