IISWBM, also known as the Indian Institute of Social Welfare and Business Management, is one of the premier institutes for management education in India. Established in 1953 in Kolkata, it remains one of the oldest in the country. It had the distinction of being the first institute in India to start a full-time MBA program and was indeed a pioneer in the field of management education. IISWBM is an affiliated college of the University of Calcutta and is approved by the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE).
IISWBM offers several programs including the flagship MBA, MBA in Public Systems Management, and MBA in Business Analytics and Data Science. Indian Institute of Social Welfare and Business Management - : Admissions and Application Process 2025
The institute accepts applications from eligible candidates through online as well as offline mode. One can visit the official website to fill the application form and pay the application fee through Debit/ Credit Card or Netbanking. The candidate can purchase the form by paying the requisite application fee at IISWBM, Management House, Kolkata 700073 to submit the same in offline mode. In this case, the form is available online, and a student can download the form and then submit it in the Institute. While submitting the application form, submit/scan all the applicable documents with the application form. The selection criteria of every course differ from one another, and the institute selects students according to the respective criterion. Now, below is given the selection process for all the courses:
For MBA - PS, one must have a valid CAT / MAT / CMAT / JEMAT / GATE / GMAT / ATMA score.
Admission to MBA (Day) and MBA HRM is made through CAT / GMAT score whereas for MBA (Evening), CAT / XAT / MAT / JEMAT / ATMA score.
Admission to PG Diploma in Sports Management can be taken through a written test conducted at the Institute's level.

The applicants can choose anyone out of the 3 options given below to submit the application for admission into IISWBM Kolkata.
Option 1 (Online)
Log in to the official website for submission of application form and through debit/credit card/ Internet Banking, the application fees must be paid.
Option 2 (Offline)
- Download the DL Form (Application Form) and IISWBM / State Bank of India Power Jyoti A/c No. 32495656710 challan and deposit the amount mentioned against the particular course in any branch of State Bank of India against the challan and DL form duly filled in.
- Forward the DL form duly entered with course specific column by the SBI along with IISWBM's copy of the Challan to the institute
