Indian Institute of Technology Madras accepts students in various levels of courses by considering the minimum eligibility limit for every course in UG, PG and PhD level programs.

Indian Institute of Technology Madras includes separate eligibility for several levels of courses. The undergraduate courses like BTech, Dual Degree(BTech+MTech)etc Includes the minimum eligibility like candidates with good marks in 10+2 higher qualifying exams recognized by related boards with relevant subjects will be considered. The main eligibility is to clear the common entrance test known as JEE Mains/ JEE Advanced for the admission in the College.

The College includes separate eligibility for several courses of post graduate level program. The post graduate courses like MA,MTech, M.Sc, MBA includes the minimum eligibility like candidates with passed graduation by securing good marks in relevant disciplines will be considered. The main eligibility is clearing the GATE/IIT JAM/ CAT entrance test which is also known as the common entrance test for admission in the College.

The College includes separate eligibility for several courses of MS, PhD level program. The courses like Computer Science and Engineering, Electrical etc include the minimum eligibility like candidates with passed masters degree by securing good marks in relevant disciplines will be considered.

2 MSc Candidates who clear the IIT JAM test in the related subject will be considered followed by merit in graduation in relevant disciplines.

Also, it considers candidates with 50% aggregate for general( 45% for sc/st/obc students) in graduation with relevant degrees.

3 MBA Candidates who clear the CAT test in the related subject will be considered followed by merit in graduation in relevant disciplines.

Also, it considers candidates with 50% aggregate for general( 45% for sc/st/obc students) in graduation with relevant degrees.

4 MTech Candidates who clear the GATE test in the related subject will be considered followed by merit in graduation in relevant disciplines.

Also, it considers candidates with 50% aggregate for general( 45% for sc/st/obc students) in graduation with relevant degrees.
