IIT Bombay Eligibility & Selection

Registration for the official entrance exam is the first step towards admission to the Indian Institute of Technology Bombay. IIT Bombay Steps for Admission Process

Admission to IIT Bombay is a multi-step procedure. Prior to applying, candidates must register for a UG or PG program. Candidate need to apply in official website for course MSc, M.Tech or B.Tech. The processes that students need to take in order to get admitted to IIT Bombay are listed below:

Step 1:

  • Students who are interested in attending IIT Bombay can submit an online application for a college or a course-specific entrance exam.
  • Candidates for BTech, BTech (Dual Degree), and BSc must complete the JEE (Main) application form on the National Testing Agency (NTA)'s official website.
  • It is mandatory for MTech applicants to register for GATE through the GATE Online Application Processing System (GOAPS) official website.
  • It is mandatory for candidates to apply for PhD and MBA programs through the official website of IIT Bombay.

Step 2: The release of the merit list and the IIT Bombay University selection criteria for 2024.

Following the registration process, candidates must take the course-based entrance exam. To be admitted, candidates must have an acceptable entrance exam score that is at least as high as the IIT Bombay cutoff. For the final seat assignment, they must go through the course-by-course counselling process following the conclusion of the selection rounds. IIT Bombay Application Process

  • You have to choose the course you want to apply for at IIT Bombay before you can apply. There are differences in the application process for each course that IIT Bombay offers. The procedure is the same for every course:

  • Applicants for MSc programs must register for IIT JAM via the official website, iitr.ac.in. For other applicants, the application cost is INR 1,800, whereas for female applicants (all categories), SC, ST, and PwD, it is INR 900 for a single exam paper.
  • Prior to submitting an application at the institute, MDes candidates must apply for CEED. During the application procedure, candidates must also submit an application fee and a number of supporting papers. For boys, the application fee is INR 3,200, while for girls, it is INR 1,600.
