BAOU: Important Information & Updates

  1. Certificate courses
  • Students have to be no less than 18 years and they have to have passed the class from a recognized board. The eligibility requirements differ by specialization, thus students should be informed from the BAOU website.
  1. BSc in IT
  • For students to be eligible they must either possess completed Class 12 or offer diplomas in Computer Engineering/Information Technology. Candidates can also be qualified if they have completed the following: they have attended 10th Std and have completed an ITI (2 or more years) with NCVT/GCVT and GSHEB/gose 12th English Exam, or 10th + 3 Years Diploma (polytechnic).
  1. BBA
  • Students have to complete a Class 12 or an equivalent course or have an ITI degree after Class 10 to be eligible. Students who have spent one year learning a relevant subject should be directly admitted to the second year. Third-year admission will be granted to those who have passed an advanced Diploma in the related subject.
  1. MBA
  • Students need to possess a bachelor's degree, and the aggregate score should be at least 50% (45% aggregate for the reserved category).
  1. BCom
  • A Bachelor of Commerce (B.Com.) program at Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar Open University is open to students who have completed the 12th grade education (Higher Secondary) at least. On the other hand, students who have passed the Bachelor Preparatory Program (BPP) from BAOU or IGNOU are also eligible for application. At the same time, those who have completed a relevant diploma course can apply for B.Com. program. These eligibility requirements are applied to guarantee that students are equipped with the requisite base of knowledge to pursue higher studies in commerce.
  1. Bachelor of Arts (B.A.)
  • Standard 12 or equivalent, or a three-year diploma course from a recognized institution after Standard 10, or PTC passed from a recognized institution, or a two or more years' recognized course from ITI after Standard 10.
  1. Master of Commerce (MCOM)
  • Graduation in B.Com., BBA, CA, ICWA, or CS from any recognized university.
  1. Master of Computer Application (MCA)
  • Passed B.C.A., B.Sc. (Computer Science), B.Sc. (IT), B.E. (CSE), B.Tech. (CSE), B.E. (IT), B.Tech. (IT), or an equivalent degree.Passed any graduation degree (like B.E.,
  • B.Tech., B.Sc., B.Com., B.A., B.Voc., etc.), preferably with Mathematics in 12th grade or during graduation.
  • Must have obtained at least 50% marks in the qualifying exam (45% for reserved category students).
  • (If students don't have a Mathematics background, a compulsory bridge course will be provided by the respective university or institution, along with additional computer-related courses as per university rules).
  1. Bachelor of Science (Hons.)- Cyber Security (BSCCS)
  • Students who have completed 10+2 or an equivalent qualification, or hold a diploma in Computer Engineering or Cyber Security, are eligible for admission to the Bachelor of Science in Information Technology (B.Sc. IT) course.
  • First Year/First Semester: Eligible candidates include those who have passed 12th standard or its equivalent, 10th standard plus ITI (2 or more years) with NCVT/GCVT certification, or completed the GSEB/GOSE 12th English exam, or 10th standard plus a 3-year Polytechnic diploma.
  • Second Year/Third Semester: Students who have completed a 10+3 years diploma in Computer Engineering (CE), Information Technology (IT), or Computer Science (CS), or 10+2 with a one-year DCA from a recognized examination body or university, can get direct admission into the third semester.
  • Third Year/Fifth Semester: Students who have completed an Advanced Diploma in Computer Application from a recognized university are eligible for direct admission into the third year.
