Dr. B.R. Ambedkar University Delhi (AUD) was founded by the Government of the National Capital Territory of Delhi through a legislative act in 2007, with official notification occurring in July 2008. Dr B.R. Ambedkar University Delhi has been conceived as a unitary university focusing mainly on research and higher learning in areas of knowledge broadly in the social sciences, humanities and the liberal arts. Ambedkar University Delhi : Admission Process

Ambedkar University Delhi : Scholarships and Financial Assistance

Dr. B.R. Ambedkar University Delhi (AUD) aims to provide accessible education and encourage social responsibility among students. The university sets its fees to balance affordability and accountability, helping students appreciate the value of subsidized higher education.

Fee Philosophy

AUD has a flexible fee structure based on the type of program, making education affordable for students from different economic backgrounds. The higher fee levels are manageable for most people, while the lower fees encourage students to take responsibility. AUD makes sure that every deserving student can access education, even if they have financial challenges. The university offers full and partial tuition fee waivers for economically disadvantaged students to promote inclusivity. Notably, 25% of the total fees go towards these waivers and scholarships. In the past three years, 229 students have received these waivers, with most getting full support.

Fee-Waiver Policy

The university has a structured fee waiver policy for students with limited financial resources. Students with an annual family income of less than ₹6 lakh are eligible for tuition fee waivers under the following slabs.

Application Process for Fee-Waiver

Students can apply for fee waivers at the time of admission by submitting the following documents:

  • For SC/ST/PwD Students: Self-undertaking as per the university’s guidelines.
  • For Economically Backward Students: Income certificate issued by a Tehsildar or Sub-Divisional Magistrate for the current financial year.

Refund Policy

If a student withdraws after admission:

  1. Before the orientation program: ₹1,000 is deducted, and the remaining amount is refunded.
  2. After the orientation program: Only the caution deposit is refunded.

Student Welfare Fund

AUD has set up a Student Welfare Fund to support students' needs. This fund can help with: - Emergency medical assistance - Purchasing books and study materials - Other essential items Each student pays ₹500 every semester, and the university adds the same amount. A group of student representatives manages the fund to keep it fair and clear.

Scholarships

AUD offers merit-based scholarships to outstanding students. Applications for these scholarships are invited every semester.
