Savitrivai Phule Pune University, popularly known as “Oxford of the East”, UNIPUNE, and SPPU, is a government University established in 1949 via the Poonam University Act. The NAAC has awarded it an A-grade accreditation. It has provisions for over 50 academic departments, 10+ faculties, and more than 50 Research houses. Around 700 colleges and more than 300 research institutes are affiliated with SPPU, which is responsible for offering UG, PG, Certificate, and PHD courses. SPPU has provisions for long-distance learning programs at the undergraduate and postgraduate levels. It collaborates academically with several worldwide universities, such as the University of Pennsylvania, North Carolina, York, etc.

SPPU Admission Process

The admissions procedure at Savitribai Phule Pune University consists of several steps. It has an entrance exam called OEE. Courses such as MA, MSC, MTech, etc. invite admission via OEE merit score. The following steps describe the process:

2. SPPU houses over 1221 students in its 7 boys and 6 girls hostel. The university has taken duly care of facilities of accommodation, like furnishing, dining facilities, and multiple rooms.
3. Sports facilities such as Basketball Court, Cricket Ground, Football Ground, Swimming Pool, and Volleyball Court.
4. The campus has an auditorium and conference halls, a health center, cafeterias, and a banking and post office facility.

Savitribai Phule Pune University has a commendable placement drive in 2024. According to reports, more than 140 companies participated in the drive. Records state the highest package is INR 16.22 LPA, and the average package is INR 9.4 LPA. The program's placement rate in 2024 was 80.7%.
