The Central University of South Bihar - is a premier institution established under the Central Universities Act, 2009 and renamed in 2014 through an amendment. The Ministry of Education, Government of India governs it, and it is located on a beautiful 300-acre campus in Panchanpur, 15 km from Gaya town. Guided by the motto Collective Reasoning, the University is committed to academic excellence and innovation.
It also boasts modern structures, a grand entrance plaza, and the half-globe-shaped stupa and an imposing administrative block. Academic complexes such as the Aryabhatta Bhawan (School of Earth, Biological & Environmental Sciences), Chanakya Bhawan (School of Social Sciences & Policy), and the Malaviya Bhawan (School of Education) support all the necessities. These are complemented by a complex of the Vivekananda Lecture Complex, the Sangharam Guest House, and Boys' Gargi Sadan hostel and Girls' Maitreyi Sadan.
CUSB provides Undergraduate (UG) and Postgraduate (PG) programs under the Choice Based Credit System (CBCS) with strong emphasis on multidisciplinary research, holistic development, and internal evaluation. The University is known for its high teacher-student ratio, qualified faculty, and wide range of elective courses.
The University was established at a temporary campus at Birla Institute of Technology in Patna in 2009. The University started in the year 2009 with a Master's course in Development Studies. It grew into a center for advance learning, fostering a research-oriented atmosphere and nurturing students for successful career paths.
