The NEST 2025 examination will be conducted at multiple centres all over India. A proposed list of about 129 centres. The candidates will be assigned to one of the two sessions. Based on the performance in NEST 2025, Merit list of the candidates will be prepared on the basis of their performance in the entrance examination. The NEST examination will be a computer-based test. Candidates must have to choose 5 centres in order in their preference while filling out the application form.

Question type
- The question paper will consist of 4 (four) sections of objective type (MCQ) type questions.
- Each section of the paper is of 50 marks and will contain subject specific questions from Biology, Chemistry, Mathematics and Physics.
Single correct answer
- Each subject section contains 17 questions, of which 12 questions are of single correct answer MCQs and remaining 5 questions in single correct answer.
- In the negative marking scheme, -1 for each wrong answer, 0 marks for unattempted questions in single correct answer MCQs.
Multiple correct answer (MCQs)
- For multiple correct answer MCQs, once will get full marks, i.e. 4 marks.
- There is no negative marking in the Multiple Correct Answer questions.
