IIT Delhi starts admission in the second semester for PhD and MSR programs. Admission to the PhD programs is generally based on the interview of eligible candidates, which the departments conduct; also, it may decide to conduct a written test, multiple interviews, or other ways of testing to screen the candidates.

Application Procedure for admission in the second semester of PhD and MSR programs

The application form will submitted only through online procedure. The institute's website allows online application form submission: https://home.iitd.ac.in/pg-admissions.php.

Instructions for filling out the application form

  1. Candidates must complete a separate application form for PhD program for each Department/Centre/School.
  2. Separate application forms should be filled for each MS R program for each Department/Centre/School.
  3. Part-time/ Sponsored (Full-time) candidates must submit an NOC/Sponsorship Certificate from their employer during the interview.

Application fee

  • Candidates in the General/ONC/EWS category must pay a fee of Rs. 200/-for each application form.
  • Candidates belonging to SC/ST/ PwD categories are required to pay Rs. 50/-.

Academic requirements for the candidates

Candidates should have a depth of training in pre-doctoral courses each department/center/ school offers. Candidates with a B.Tech/ MSc/ MA or equivalent degree must complete 12 or 20 credits with a minimum DGPA of 7.50 and CGPA of 7.00. MTech or equivalent degree holders must complete six credits with a minimum DGPA of 7.50 and a CGPA of 7.00.
