Age Criteria
- The age requirement to appear in JEE Main 2024 is not applicable.
- The age requirements of the institute or institutes to which they are applying, however, might need to be met.
Total Attempts
- The maximum number of consecutive attempts that students can take for JEE Main is three.
- After the Class 12 board test, there are typically two attempts made in a row. The first is usually taken shortly after the exam.
- A candidate may appear for the exam a maximum of six times, as it is administered twice a year.
Qualification Exam
To be eligible, candidates needed to have cleared one of the following tests:- The final 10+2 exam conducted by any approved Central or State Board (such as CISCE or CBSE).
- Intermediate or two-year Pre-University examconducted by an accredited university or board.
- Final exam for the National Defense Academy's two-year Joint Services Wing program.
- The National Institute of Open Schooling administers the Senior Secondary School Examination, which requires a minimum of five subjects.
- Any public school, board, or university exam in India or any other nation that the Association of Indian Universities (AIU) has acknowledged as being equal to the 10+2 system.
Year of passing the qualifying exam
- Candidates who passed the Class 12 exam or any comparable qualifying exam in 2022 or 2023, or who are scheduled to take the Class 12 exam or any comparable qualifying exam in 2024, are eligible to take the JEE (Main) Examination.
Minimum Grade
- Applicants must place in the top 20 percentile of their respective boards or earn at least 75% of the possible points in the Class 12 board exam.
- The minimum score required for SC and ST candidates is reduced to 65%.
